Reviews for King’s College Hospital Dubai
Dr. Roberto Puxeddu took exceptional good care about my voice problem and precisely explained and evaluated my problem as a singer. The instrumentation was high technology with amazing images and I was able to get precise explanation about my sulcus.
He performed a delicate operation to my vocal cords and injection of hyaluronic acid!
My voice is back to origin and I’m so grateful to him.
I have been to many ENTs here and in different countries and am happy to say that Dr. Roberto is the best ENT I met.
Visited the ENT doctor, Roberto Puxeddu. With consult and nasal endoscopy I paid 1600AED. (Wish they told me during the appointment before what the endoscopy would cost almost 1000AED)
He also ordered a saliva bacteria test which he said came back clear. When I consulted with him and told him I was frequently choking and struggling to breath, he dismissed this and said I should see a psychiatrist, in front of my daughter ,I was in tears… He also ordered 2 more other tests that I am waiting more than 10 days to get an appointment
Regarding the choking ,I consulted with another clinic and was found Positive for Hpylori infection in mouth and stomach which was causing my issues… I can’t understand why this was not picked up from the Saliva test I had done with Kings hospital..
Really disappointed with the way I was treated at Kings hospital, even more upset of the way this doctor dismissed my issues and difficulties, kept saying its in my head, Its 5 weeks I am suffering and lost more than 10 kgs due to the HPYLORI bacteria infection.
Will never recommend this hospital, especially if you dont have insurance, seems like its just business and not for health care
Worst experience and the worst emergency department!!!! I waited for 2 hrs at the emergency to be seen by ER Drs.
In this 2 hrs. I could've reach abu Dhabi or beyond !!! It's so devastating to call it emergency department where patients need to suffer before seeing the Drs.
I wonder if DHA will accept this or they should take an action!!!!
On July 20th 2021 I went to The King's College Hospital in Dubai to do COVID PCR test for the trip. The nurse at the drive through who came to take swabs from me and my son was asked to be gentle and she agreed. Nevertheless, she pushed the swab deeply into my nose, pressed it hard against my septum (somewhere deep inside my sinus) and started rotating and rotating and rotating it like she was trying to drill a hole through my sinus. I was in such a pain. Same thing happened to my 15 y.o. son. The pain continued throughout the night and I couldnt sleep. I was in agony for the whole night and in the morning I got just slightly better but still not feeling well. I wrote an e-mail to the hospital telling them what happened previous evening and soon my phone rang. Hospital manager called me to apologise and offered me to come to the hospital for a checkup. At the same time she asked if I had an insuranse?! I told her that I did have it but that wasn't willing to pay or make someone else pay them for fixing their own mistakes. She told me to come anyway so I did. At the reception desk I was given a statement to sign that I will pay the hospital fees which I refused. They took me in (which they should've done at the first place). I thought that the ENT doctor will be waiting for me because it's something only ENT can handle but instead I was greeted by the nurse and than by a GP. They were both kind but not able to help me. GP found my septum red but wasn't able to go deep enough to see the place of an injury and confirmed that I need an ENT doctor. After he exited, I was left to wait for almost 2 hours for someone to come or give me any info about what was going to happen. In the mean time a nurse came once to ask if I needed something while I was laying in bed in fetal position trying not to move and not to breath, with my hand on my right forhead and my right eye to keep them warm because the pain was almost unbareable. I guess the cold air inside the hospital agrivated it and it was worse and worse as the time passed. After almost two hours my I tried to contact the manager again but she wasn't available. My husband asked the nurse to call some other manager to come and give us some explanation. After a while, the GP that examined me previosly appeared with some man who presented himself as some manager (I forgot what kind of manager, sorry) and they told us they didn't have ENT in the hospital and weren't able to find one so basicaly they let me go just like that, still in pain. They just didn't care. The worst of all was their proposition to make me an appointment for Sunday?! In FIVE days???
So I had to leave. I came home, took a large dose of pain killers a couple of times and luckily, after 24 hours in agony I was feeling better. No one called or e-mailed me from the hospital since. Not even to ask how I was.
In my experience - King's College Hospital NEVER AGAIN! I understand that people sometimes make mistakes, but then they are responsible to take care of the concequences. First they tried to charge me for fixing their mistakes, then kept me waiting in pain for almost two hours and at the end they didn't have the doctor who was able to deal with problems one of their staff caused. All that for one routine sample taking!
I am lost for words. NEVER AGAIN!!!
A truly dismal and disappointing experience. I’ve had Executive medical checks in great hospitals in Hong Kong, Bangkok and Singapore - King’s College was far below the standard.
The good - the ECG and service from the cardiologist and his team was exceptional. He was actively engaged in the ECG and stress test and kept me informed all along the way.
The bad - booking the check was a nightmare. I used the online system but received no response after 2 attempts. I finally called and got an appointment booked.
After that, the rest of the check was weak. I had asked for the full suite of exams and tests. I paid for the full suite and went to the Hospital for the check. The nursing staff was disorganized and confused. They wanted to do another ECG and stress test (I had just completed it 2 days prior). The eye exam was an eye chart that is stuck to wall with tape (it kept falling off). For the first visit I completed the blood tests and body mass check (exact same scale I use at the gym). There were no other tests.
On my return visit it became clear that they had forgotten to book any of the other tests - the GP reviewed by blood tests only. He was unhappy that the other tests were not available but blamed the staff. I was asked to book the remaining sessions over the next few days at a different site and he would call if there were any issues. At this stage I had been to the clinic 3 times and I wasn’t going to waste more time.
I asked for a portion of my money back. The person who booked the appointment blamed the clerical staff at the clinic and so on...
There was a total lack of empathy, accountability or interest from anyone at Kings.
I am hopefully getting some of my payment rebated.
Update - over a week later and still no reimbursement as I has been promised.
Update - 3 months later and still no reimbursement as promised. Many emails promising but no funds. Truly horrible service.
Update - they forgot to process the refund and promised to do so. But 5 days later and no $.
I really caution against using the Exec medical here.
Update - many emails promising reimbursement but nothing received. It has been 4 months of continued poor service and broken commitments.
Great Doctors, modern setup
