Reviews for Heidelberg University Hospital
I am an international patient diagnosed with spondylodiscitis — a severe and potentially life-threatening spinal condition.
Heidelberg University Hospital’s International Office informed me that the earliest possible outpatient consultation would be in January 2026, i.e. a delay of nearly five months, and requested a prepayment of 1,500 EUR for a short visit. This is medically irresponsible and could significantly endanger my health.
I specifically asked which specialist made this decision and on what grounds, and was told it was Dr. Hemmer. However, no medical justification was provided for such a delay in a case of suspected spondylodiscitis.
This raises serious concerns about patient safety, transparency and professional conduct.
