- takes on a role towards the population in its health and social services territory
- administer the organization of services and complimentary services in its territory as part of its multiple missions, according to the needs of the population and its territorial realities

- is accountable for ensuring the execution of healthcare services to the population in its health and social service region, including the public health aspect
- enters into agreements with other facilities and partner organizations of the Réseau Territorial de Services (university hospitals, medical clinics, family medicine groups, network clinics, community agencies, community pharmacies, external partners, etc.)
Montreal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Centre:
- 1 child and youth protection centre (DPJ)
- development disorder (CRDITED) and one rehabilitation centre for youth with adjustment problems
- 2 rehabilitation centres (CR): one for people with intellectual disabilities or a pervasive
- 4 local community service centres (CLSC)
- 4 hospital centres (CH): 3 hospitals that provide general and specialized care, and one psychiatric hospital
- 8 residential and long-term care centres (CHSLD)

This is a friendly and warm environment hospital. Most of the stuff speaks French only or have hard time expressing themselves in English. The rooms are clean however they need to be updated.
After my breast surgery the stuff took good care of me. Their attitude was surprisingly caring, patient and available for my any request.
Also there is a pediatric center in the same hospital. All my 4 children have their pediatre there. Surprisingly well organised, you can get an appointment within 24 hours and the waiting time is very short, comparing to other places in Montreal. The doctors seam to be competente,they helped a lot my baby with lungs problems.
