Description
With its two Munich locations, Großhadern Campus and Inner City Campus are one of the largest university hospitals in Germany and Europe. Every year around 500,000 patients trust the competence, care, and commitment of our employees in 29 specialist clinics, twelve institutes, and seven departments as well as the 50 interdisciplinary centers.
Outstanding facilities at the LMU Klinikum are the Oncological Top Center CCC M, Bavaria's largest transplant center TxM, the German Vertigo and Balance Center, the Tropical Institute, and the Center for International Health (CIH). In addition, the LMU Klinikum is involved in all German centers for health research as well as in the DIFUTURE consortium as part of the medical informatics initiative of the Federal Research Ministry.
"Together. Caring. Leading the way." - These are the requirements and mandates of the LMU Clinic in Munich. The new interdisciplinary LMU Klinikum Innenstadt guarantees ultra-modern structures for treatment, teaching, and research.
An accident at Stachus, injured people at the “Wies'n”, an impending birth: with the LMU Klinikum downtown campus, patients can always rely on the best medical care, even in Munich's center. To this end, the LMU Klinikum and the Free State of Bavaria are investing in a new clinic: In the first half of 2021, the interdisciplinary LMU Klinikum Innenstadt will open at the corner of Ziemssen and Nussbaumstrasse, wherein future the departments of internal medicine, surgery, emergency aid, and obstetrics will be operated. On around 12,400 square meters of floor space, the LMU Klinikum ensures university treatment for patients and, at the same time, student training for doctors and midwives.
In the medical centers at the University of Munich Hospital, the focus is on the patient and his or her individual clinical picture. The comprehensive treatment of the patient is made possible on the one hand by the cooperation of different specialist disciplines, on the other hand by the close interlinking of research, teaching, and patient care.
By bundling competencies and disciplines, the centers offer the patient a holistic spectrum of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
