Reviews for Corfu General Clinic
DO NOT GO THERE!!! STAY JUST AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. This is just a money making company for tourists. I arrived with a referral from another doctor asking to have a thorax x-ray because there was a suspected pneumonia. They told me to lay down, they started to take my blood, make a ECG, COVID antigene test, COVID PCR test. I asked them why they were making this, if I had asked just for a a x-ray. They told me this was "standard procedure" (I later understood it was simply to pump the bill up). An English speaking woman called Niki came to me and asked me if I had private insurance. I said I had the European Health Insurance Card (EHIC, formerly the E111 form). They brought some papers to sign (it was explicitly written that this was not covered by EHIC). Since I was sent there by Marilena Mastora (the wife of Alexander Mastoras, the owner of the clinic), they told me to sign and a reasonable price will be arranged. Dr. Christodoulopoulos, who visited me, liked to talk, to be relaxed, to do things slowly and to make stupid jokes. This was to hide his lack of expertise in the matter. He told me also to "wait a bit", and he would have come back. I waited for one hour, then I asked the nurses around, they told me the doctor had an emergency. But every was looking so calm there. People were just hanging, having a coffee, chatting among each other and laughing. After another hour, I asked again. People were just keeping telling me to wait. After 2 and half hours of waiting I decided to go upstairs and talk to the secretary. I discovered Dr. Christodoulopoulos had just left me there for almost three hours, while he had a nice lunch break and then finished his turn. The new doctor, a ~75 year old man, who was insisting on speaking Italian (I could honestly barely understand him - his Italian was very bad), was screaming at me in front of everyone saying that I could not ask for an x-ray, they are the doctors and they know what exams I need (everyone knows that to understand if there is pneumonia one needs just an x-ray). Meanwhile the security guy came, he was yanking me and saying that I had to leave because of the screams (the doctor was screaming, I was not) and had to pay immediately otherwise they will call the police. Other people there threatened me to call the police (I felt like in a weird movie - I had no idea why they were telling me this). I tried a couple of more times to ask for the x-ray until the point I understood nobody of the doctors there was able to read my x-ray and see if I had really pneumonia. I PAID 370 euro JUST BLOOD TEST AND A ECG (totally useless to understand of I had pneumonia). The bill (see picture) says also "Medical Treatment". When I asked what this was, they told me it was the visit with the doctor. But again, as I said, Dr. Christodoulopoulos made just some very stupid jokes, while the nurses were making the tests, and then he left without even visiting me. After paying, I left. But just before leaving, I begged the guys at reception desk and Niki, the English speaking woman, to give me an address where I could get a quick x-ray. They gave the address of a place, where I got my x-ray and diagnosis in a total 15 min just for 20 euro. I am sure the guys and Niki pitied me as they know well the criminal company they work for! (You guys, working there, must better leave this place - how can you sleep at night well with all these patients on your conscience?). To conclude: IT IS A SCAM! VERY INCOMPETENT DOCTORS AND NURSES! THEY WORK JUST WITH PRIVATE HEALTH INSURANCES FROM TOURISTS BECAUSE THEY KNOW HOW THEY CAN CARVE OUT LOTS OF MONEY FROM IT. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS!!!

If I could give this no stars I would. This clinic is dirty, blooded swabs on the floor in the treatment room. The staff are not interested in what your problem is and how they can help you, they simply do anything they can to increase your bill,. I went in with severe back pains to try to get some pain relief due to a herniated disc. I even had the results of an MRI scan that was done in the UK just 2 weeks earlier and they did an ECG, a blood test (that alone was nearly €500) and even wanted to do an X-ray despite the MRI scan. Any time we asked why they were wanting to do something all they kept saying was it was their protocol and not to worry as my travel insurance would cover it. I sent an email to complain and yes you have guessed it, no response whatsoever. Avoid this place like the plaque or you too will get ripped off.
