Specialized Rehabilitation Hospital (SRH) in Abu Dhabi is a 166-bed facility dedicated to acute and long-term rehabilitation. As the nation’s first hospital of its kind, SRH provides comprehensive care for patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, and chronic pain conditions, serving both adults and children.

The hospital offers a broad spectrum of services, including post-acute rehabilitation, long-term care, pediatric rehabilitation, pain management, and intensive care unit (ICU) services. Clinical support services such as hydrotherapy, radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy are available around the clock to address immediate and ongoing medical needs.

SRH employs a multidisciplinary team of specialists who utilize advanced medical equipment and technologies. The hospital’s pediatric rehabilitation program features robotics, virtual reality, and a sensory room, supporting recovery and mobility for younger patients. Specialized programs address conditions such as stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, Guillain-Barré syndrome, cerebral palsy, and spasticity management.

Patients are categorized based on care needs—normal, severe, and emergency—with 24/7 ICU care, ventilators, and respiratory therapy provided in a home-like environment. The Transitional Ventilator Unit (LTVU) supports patients requiring ventilator care and includes a dedicated ventilator weaning program directed by ICU physicians and an interdisciplinary team.

The hospital’s infrastructure is designed to accommodate both temporary and long-term patients with varying levels of medical acuity. ICU rooms are equipped with life support systems and ventilators, offering continuous monitoring and critical care. These rooms are spacious, allowing for medical equipment, additional personnel, and family visits.

SRH’s clinical support extends to wound care management, plastic surgery, pulmonary, ENT, urology, gastroenterology, and dietary services. The facility also provides 24/7 laboratory, pharmacy, and radiology services, as well as urgent point-of-care testing.

Patient and family education is emphasized through the LIFE Center, and the hospital collaborates with international partners such as The Shirley Ryan AbilityLab to enhance care standards and clinical expertise.
