The Bank of Cyprus Oncology Centre is a medical institution that specializes in treating cancer through state-of-the-art services. It was founded in 1998 through an agreement between the Republic of Cyprus and the Bank of Cyprus Medical Foundation. The Centre is located in Nicosia, Cyprus, and is next to Makarios Hospital. It comprises of three clinics: The Radiation Oncology and Nuclear Medicine Clinic, the Medical Oncology Clinic, and Diagnostic & Interventional Radiology. The Centre has been accredited by CHKS (Caspe Healthcare Knowledge Systems), a UK-based leading provider of healthcare intelligence and quality improvement services for hospitals worldwide. The Centre is the first medical center in Greece and Cyprus to have obtained this accreditation.
The Centre has various specialist units for various types of cancer such as Cancer of the Gastrointestinal Tract, Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Gynaecological Cancer, Urological Cancer, Skin Cancer, Head & Neck Cancer, Tumours of the Central Nervous System, Lymphomas / Leukaemia, Soft Tissue Tumours (Sarcomas) and also for rarer cases, such as tumors of the endocrine system, as well as benign tumors.
