Even though it is rare, you can experience dental implant failure. The most common cause of failure is bacteria. If you have bacteria at the time of the procedure it can spread and cause your implants to fail. Also, they can fail if do not care for them properly, you have to keep your mouth very clean, eat proper foods, recommended by your doctor and give your implants enough time to heal. Another cause can be grinding your teeth. When you grind your teeth, it can move the implants out of position, which can cause failure. To avoid it, you should wear a mouthpiece when you go to sleep if you know you grind or clench. Being thorough with your oral hygiene and visiting your doctor for checkups should help avoid implant failure.
