Read below for more information about the types of vein treatments and the techniques used by the doctor.
1. The Cutera Excel V is a non-invasive laser technology that is used to treat superficial and deep vein conditions, skin lesions, and pigmentation issues, such as rosacea, freckles, skin tags, telangiectasias, angiomas, port-wine stains, skin discolorations, venous lakes, age spots, acne scars, wrinkles, spider veins, leg veins, and facial veins.
Cutera Excel V works by providing two wavelengths, that are delivered according to the size, depth, and severity of the vascular or skin issue. The short wave aims to treat mild pigmentation concerns and superficial vein issues, while the long wave is suitable for deeper vein conditions and darker pigmentation skin lesions and irregularities.
The procedure may be carried out in 10 - 45 minutes, depending on the severity of your issue. The Excel V treatment does not need anesthesia and has little or no downtime period.
2. Spider veins are small conglomerations of veins that appear on the surface of the skin. Spider veins are not considered to indicate a serious condition, but they are seen as a cosmetic defect by many people.
The spider veins can be treated using the following techniques:
- Asclera therapy is a sclerosing medication that is injected directly into the surface of the spider veins. The medication blocks the inside lumen of the vein, making them seal and disappear.
- Foam Sclerotherapy - involves injecting a foam solution into the vein network, which will make them seal and disappear. It is considered to be the golden standard treatment for this condition.

3. Varicose veins represent swollen, twisting veins visible underneath the skin’s surface. Patients with varicose veins struggle not just with visible defects, but also with such symptoms as itching skin, swelling, and heaviness in the leg.
Untreated varicose veins may cause painful skin ulcers in the ankle area that can be very difficult to treat.

The varicose veins can be treated using such treatments as:

- VNUS Closure – is a minimally invasive treatment that seals the affected veins using a catheter with radiofrequency energy.
- VenaCure EVLT – involves using an endovenous laser to shunt the affected veins and turn the blood flow to the healthy veins.
- ClariVein – is a combination of a sclerosant solution and mechanical agitation that aims to treat the sclerotic veins.
- Foam Sclerotherapy – is performed the same way as in the case of spider veins.
- Ambulatory Phlebectomy – is performed through micro-incisions and involves removing the damaged vein in tiny segments.

4. Apligraf is a regenerative venous ulcer treatment.
Venous ulcers are a complication of untreated varicose veins. This treatment involves using healthy human skin cells that are placed over the damaged area.
The cells will provide the wound with all nutritive agents that are required for its regeneration.
